Four wonderful cultural sites, and four trails linking them near and along the Black River in the Chester area.
Park Description:
Black River County Park, part of the Morris County Park System, consists of 858 acres. It includes four important cultural sites - Cooper Mill, Elizabeth D. Kay Environmental Center, Bamboo Brook Outdoor Education Center, and Willowwood Arboretum - each of which is not only worth visiting in its own right, but also provides access to trails in the area. Trails Overview:
Four marked trails traverse the park linking the various cultural sites [from 1.0 to 4.5 miles]. The Bamboo Brook Trail [blue, 4.5 miles] connects the Cooper Mill/Elizabeth D. Kay Environmental Center section of the park to the distant Bamboo Brook Outdoor Education Center/Willowwood Arboretum section.

- A spur of the Patriots' Path [white] runs through the park
- Advisory: The Conifer Pass Trail [red] requires a free permit available at the Kay Environmental Center.
- Pets are not welcomed at any of the cultural sites.
