A vast 32,000-acre wildlife area containing upland forest, bogs, three small lakes and wetlands.
Park Description:
The Greenwood Forest WMA stretches for miles along County Route 539 in Ocean County. The area contains forests of pitch pine and scrub oak in the uplands and white cedar swamps in the lowlands. Its fields are managed for wildlife, with hedgerows and plantings of wildlife food and cover crops.
Trails Overview:
Sand roads lead into the vast interior. For those not wishing to venture too far, there is a boardwalk at Webb's Mill Bog Cedar Swamp for observation of native plants and animals.
