Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge

This 80-acre preserve consists of a variety of habitats, and as many as 191 different bird species have been spotted throughout the year.
Park Description:
The refuge is comprised of upland forest, salt marsh, second growth thicket, beachfront and some formal gardens. This diversity lends itself to many different species of bird life within the park including grey catbirds, warblers and mergansers (Hiking Long Island guidebook).
Trails Overview:
The walk takes you down to a fine pebbly beach overlooking Huntington Bay. Eatons Neck with its lighthouse on the Sound lies directly across the bay.
